Fourty kilometers from Baku there is Gala, the open-air ethnographic and historic museum. The museum, founded in 2008 is located in the same-name village. It is dedicated to the history of the Absheron Peninsula. There, you can see the lifestyle of ancient Azerbaijani, how they ate and drank, how they manage a household during XVI-XIX centuries. Gala village, is more than five thousand years old and is one of the oldest villages in Baku.
The Gala Museum territory hosts also several exhibitions, where the tourists can see ancient household items, glassware, jewelry and other interesting exhibits cased in glass. You will get an opportunity to plunge into ancient life. All conditions have been created at the center to ensure children's rest, learning the local history and culture, mastering different types of old popular art, as well as holding different events.
